Terms of Service

What the service does

You photograph an appliance’s rating plate. We identify the model, estimate its age from the serial number, link to the manufacturer’s manual and support pages, list parts that commonly need replacing, and check for open safety recalls.

Accuracy — read this one

Identifications are produced by automated systems, including AI, and can be wrong. A worn or partly obscured plate, an unusual variant, or a brand with irregular numbering can all produce a confident-looking result that is incorrect.

Always confirm the model number against the appliance itself before ordering a part or acting on anything the app tells you. Manufacture dates decoded from serial numbers are estimates. Specifications and parts lists are provided for reference and may be incomplete or out of date.

Symptom-to-part suggestions are advisory only and are not a diagnosis. They point you at likely candidates; they do not tell you what is wrong with your appliance.

Safety

Appliance repair carries real risk. Disconnect power and water before working on any unit. Work involving gas, sealed refrigeration systems, or mains wiring should be performed by a qualified, licensed technician. Recall information is provided as a convenience — always follow the manufacturer’s and the CPSC’s official remedy instructions.

MrAppliancePro does not provide professional repair, engineering, or safety advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind.

Manuals and third-party content

We link to manuals and support pages hosted by manufacturers and other authorized sources. We do not host, mirror, or redistribute those documents, and we don’t control their content or availability. Following a link means you are subject to that site’s own terms.

Parts links and affiliate relationships

We are a referrer, not a retailer. We do not sell, stock, ship, or accept returns on parts. Any purchase is between you and the retailer, under their terms.

Free use and future paid plans

The service currently includes a number of fresh identifications at no charge, plus unlimited free lookups of models already in the library. Paid plans are planned; when they launch, their prices and terms will be published before anything goes on sale. We may change quotas as the service evolves.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract the appliance database.
• Resell or redistribute results as a competing data product.
• Circumvent quotas, entitlement checks, or rate limits.
• Upload content you have no right to, or anything unlawful.
• Interfere with the service or attempt to access other users’ data.

Trademarks and independence

MrAppliancePro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by any appliance manufacturer or retailer. Brand names, model numbers, and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the equipment you are asking about.

Your content

Photos and notes you submit remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to run the service — to process your photo, identify the appliance, and store your history — and nothing beyond that. See the privacy policy.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that identifications will be accurate, that recall data will be complete or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MrAppliancePro is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, property damage, personal injury, or the cost of parts ordered in reliance on an identification. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

You can stop at any time and delete your data from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or that threatens the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it.
